PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

Whilst not always the first focus of a commercial team, the selection and management of the supplier base is key to the effective and sustainable delivery of the supply function. Building and maintaining this facet of the Supply Chain helps underpin the organization’s production activity, ensuring better delivery of quality, time and cost aspirations whilst supporting the management of risk.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Establishing a context of vendor management within procurement
  • Establishing an understanding of the procurement life cycle
  • Identifying procurement requirements in project
  • Exploring types of commercial relationship
  • Evaluating, selecting and monitoring suppliers
  • Understanding the basics of a contract
  • Managing an on-going contract
  • Negotiating with vendors
  • Final acceptance and administrative closure
TRAINING EVALUATION METHOD:
  • Level 1 End of course evaluation to measure overall program effectiveness
  • Level 2 Pre and post-test to measure knowledge gained.
  • Level 3 Action based learning. Participants will develop action plans to apply what is learnt from the program to work environment
LEARNING OUTCOMES:

To help the participants understand and appreciate the importance of developing and maintaining effective relationships with Supply Chain vendors, partners and agents over the contract life-cycle from the pre-contract dialogue through to the delivery, evaluation and ultimate closure of the commercial interaction.
